About the Tour & Guide

Pricilla Motman grew up in Bullenwijk, one of the most challenging neighbourhoods in Amsterdam Southeast.

It was a place of survival, but also of strength, rich culture, and deep rooted in community spirit. It shaped her and taught her the importance of connection, resilience, and creativity.

Fifteen years ago, she moved to Rotterdam, where she re - aligned with her own heritage and found the heart of the city through community.

Now living in Bergschenhoek, Pricilla is the founder of Rotterdamse Hartstochten, (Rotterdam hearth tours) a cultural walking tour that invites others to experience the hearth of Rotterdam through real stories, real people, and culture.

The tour explores the culture, identity, and belonging of the Surinamese diaspora.

This tour is her tribute to that rediscovery.
You won’t just see Rotterdam.

You will

experience it!

Hartstochten” is a Dutch word that means both passion of the heart.

One sculpture shaped her vision Zadkine’s "The Destroyed City",

The figure with a gaping hole where the heart used to be. For Pricilla, that heart was never truly gone it simply needed to be re-found.

She found it in Rotterdam.
In dance. In hip-hop. In motherhood.
And most of all in community.

“One of the most heartfelt and beautiful city experiences I've ever had.”

Priscilla didn’t just guide us, she welcomed us into her Rotterdam. Every stop came with good vibes and real human connection. I felt like I truly belonged for a day and i made a new friend.

The goodie bag was such a sweet surprise, and the tote I bought now feels like a badge of honour. Thank you for sharing your heart and heritage, Priscilla. I’ll never forget this.
